There's nothing quite like New York City on marathon Sunday. Thousands of runners taking on 26.2 miles, crowds lining the streets, handmade signs everywhere, and complete strangers cheering each other on like they've known each other for years.
I headed out with my camera to photograph the 2026 New York City Marathon, and somehow ended up with hundreds of photos of people I've never met.
What stood out most wasn't just the incredible athleticism and determination of the runners, but the energy of the entire city. Every cheer, every high five, every person shouting encouragement from the sidelines. It's hard not to feel inspired watching so many people accomplish something extraordinary.
There's something really special about getting to capture these moments, even if it's just a split second in someone's 26.2-mile journey.
To everyone who ran, cheered, volunteered, or simply showed up, thank you for making New York City feel a little more magical.
And to the runners I photographed, I hope these photos find their way to you.
